Hi and thank you for viewing my blog. I appreciate the support and viewership. I guess I'll fill in a little about myself in this section. My name is AJ. I am currently a business college student in my final year. I've loved music ever since I was a toddler being raised in a house of music. Ties to music and performing run deep in my family.
My grandfather Roger performed in an Accapella / Doo Wop group called The Del Reos in the early 60's. He would sing any chance he got. My uncle knew Laurie Anderson personally and met Lou Reed numerous times. He frequented events in the avant garde and glam scenes and was a proud attendee of Woodstock. Most importantly, my father was a drummer / perrcussionist in his youth. He passed his love and passion for music onto me.
I am a musician myself. I play primarily guitar and piano at the moment, but I also play drums, bass guitar, organ, mandolin, ukuelele, various percussion, and recorder. I plan to learn clarinet soon since I failed to learn flute. I try to write my own music but I'm not very good at that. I also crate dig and buy and sell records. My biggest musical influences are The Bee Gees, Jethro Tull, Syd Barrett, The Beach Boys, The Dean Davis Company, Frank Zappa and Genesis. I enjoy most forms of music though and am inspired frequently. My biggest personal influences are my father and mother, Paul McCartney, Eric Carr. Most of my extended family, in one way or another, has inspired me personally.
